Hiya Steve

Welcome to 123RC mate > http://www.123rc.net...c-forums-steve/
Do drop in and say hi, tell us a bit about yourself and your RC hobby :-)

As for the DX18.....

Looks amazing, with a VERY attractive price, but.....
What exactly do you do with 18 channels?

Hi rich
what to do with 18 channels.simple,1.open boot to put bin bag in with remnants of the plane you were just flying.
2.warm up car heater..3make the tea.
in other words you DONT need 18.its just there if needed.

i live in Taunton Somerset.Been out of the hobby since the 70'S.wow what changes there have been.trying to encourage the 2 kind to take up flying. that way i wont get so much sitck when i go out.

hahahahah, good one, if only....
Seriously though, I cant possibly think of anything whatsoever that would need 18 channels... Can you?

Be nice if it bloomin well could make the tea and sweep up the runway at the end of the day..
With the rise in FPV flying, its a shame some of those extra channels are not gimball controlled like the main 4 channels, to allow control of camera's and other such devices.

Heck I have a Futaba 10CG myself, and dont think I could ever make a use for all 10 channels, even with FPV gear..

Hope you manage to get your kids into flying though, its good fun for them, plus you can get them to do your repairs/builds, and send them out washing cars when its time for a new model :-)

Hope we hear from you more often mate :-)

Thats what gets me... I have a radian pro setup on the DX8, and I can barely remember what 3 switches work the flaps/camber/crow, and those are just mixes on 6 channels...
I would seriously love to hear from and/or see somebody actually using all of the channels on a radio like that..

So, the Spektrum DX18 is out, but how many people are going to have enough confidence to spent £800 on a transmitter from a brand with so many bugs?

I definately dont think I could even think about spending £800 on such a problematic brand...
